An Indiana United Methodist Congregation took a group of youth to Mexico. They worked on construction and Vacation Bible School activities. In their application, the congregation said the project normally would have been too big for their small congregation. But Mission Match Funds helped. On the application, the church leader said that the plan was to "model servanthood" by meeting needs "without expecting something in return."
Eleven teenagers and two adult leaders went to work with a "Christ-centered youth mission organization" in Mexico. They worked on home improvement projects and a Kids Club.
The youth leader wrote that the Mission Match funds "encouraged us toward giving. Many people have given exceedingly more than usual. We have all been challenged and blessed as we watch God work miracles in our midst!"
