Prayers are needed for the victims of the cyclone. Pray for clean water and food to be provided. In an excerpt from a New York Times article titled "In Flooded Delta, A Want As Pervasive As Death," a man describes the situation. "'Everything is gone with the wind,' said Zaw Win, a farmer in Leyaim, a half-hour drive from the city limits of Yangon. His rice reserves, which would have lasted him until November, were blown and washed away by the storm. The main crop is normally planted in May and harvested in November." Following is a link to the article http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/10/world/asia/10scene.html?_r=1&oref=slogin It may be noted that if Christians in parts or all of Orange County, CA were to increase their giving to churches to an average of 10%, and make sure that the new money goes out for missions, these Christians could support their churches' work in Myanmar/Burma with an additional $2.1 billion, as well as increase other mission outreach.
